The topic of energy is once more of central interest nowadays. Debates and analyses on the future availability of Energy sources and carriers, their prices, the role of energy consumption in economic growth and its environmental impact are developing daily. Civilisation based on easy, abundant energy from fossil fuels seems that is coming to an end. One reason is the finite nature of these resources, but the second one is the severe consequences of Global warming to the planet that appear to be irreversible on a human timescale.
